THROWS

We recommend 500 to 1,000 throws per float rider.  More is certainly acceptable.  These may be beads, doubloons, cups, frisbees, or other valuable trinkets.  Factory wrapped candies may be thrown.  Stuffed animals may be thrown.  Throws should be appealing enough so people want them, heavy enough to throw at least six feet, light enough so they won't hurt people, and pleasant enough to make everyone happy.  Toomy's in Mobile, Alabama. is frequently a good source of beads in bulk.  Calculate your cost per throw.  Traditionally, beads are purchased by the Gross (144 strands).  We recommend purchasing what you want to throw.

We realize that not everybody can make the trip to Mobile or New Orleans to get throws in bulk.  We have a limited number of throws available here.

There's a lot going on immediately before the parade, so it's difficult to deliver newly ordered throws that day.  In fact, so much is going on in the last week that we can't guarantee orders made in the last week before the 2026 parade.

To repeat:  We cannot guarantee throws ordered after January 20, 2024.

Pickup details can be arranged by contacting Co-Captain John Cashen at 706-333-1644 or [email protected].

Beads, Throw, # 720 necklaces, Purple, Green, Gold, 7 mm, 33 inches (1 case)

$50.00
This is the staple of throws, throw-beads. There's something amazing about making a connection with someone in the crowd and getting those beads to them. There's nothing like it. Depending on how you throw, a float rider might easily go through a few cases in a route! These must be ordered by January 30, 2026. These may be picked up at the Loading Party, the night before the parade (February 6, 2026) or by special arrangement with a Krewe official (John Cashen, Ken Gordon, Charles Kelly). For further delivery details or options, call John Cashen at 706-668-3555 or email [email protected].

# 100, Doubloons, Krewe of Mask, Year 2026

$30.00

Doubloons are perhaps the most fun and coveted common throw. The noise of a handful of these hitting the street thrills the crowds into action. These are aluminium and 39 mm in diameter with the Krewe's Logo and year of founding on one side and this year's theme on the obverse side. These must be ordered by 1 week prior to the parade or earlier. These may be picked up at the Loading Party, the night before the parade or at the Krewe of Mask Desk at the Parade assembly area on the day of the parade, or by special arrangement with a Krewe official (John Cashen, Ken Gordon, Charles Kelly). For further delivery details or options, call John Cashen at 706-668-3555 or email [email protected].
